Darrell Sutton was born in Marietta on November 4, 1977. He has lived nearly the entirety of his life in Georgia, and has been a resident of Cobb County continuously since 2003.

Darrell received his Bachelor’s degree with honors from Berry College in Rome in 2000. He thereafter attended Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law in Macon and received his Juris Doctor degree in 2003. 

In 2003, Darrell was admitted to the Georgia Bar. He is licensed to practice in all State and Superior Courts of Georgia, the Court of Appeals of Georgia, and the Georgia Supreme Court, as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia.

Darrell practices almost exclusively in the area of insurance defense litigation. His practice is devoted to the representation of employers, insurers, self-insured companies, and servicing agents in workers’ compensation claims throughout Georgia, and he is a member of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the State Bar of Georgia. He also has significant experience representing individuals and businesses in various civil liability claims and insurance coverage and premium disputes.

Over the past several years, Darrell has actively served the Cobb County Bar Association and the State Bar of Georgia. He has been a Trustee of the Cobb County Bar Association since 2007 and was President of the Cobb Bar Young Lawyers Division from 2007 to 2008. He has co-chaired the Cobb Bar Law Day Committee and the Law Day Silent Auction Committee. He was also awarded the Cobb County Bar Association President’s Award in 2008 and 2009.

From 2005 to 2007, Darrell served as a Representative on the State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyers Division’s Executive Council. Darrell graduated from the Young Lawyers Division’s Leadership Academy in 2007 and became a Director of the YLD in 2008. He was appointed co-editor of the YLD’s newsletter that same year and continues to serve in that capacity. Darrell has also chaired the YLD’s Rules and Bylaws Committee and was on the Executive Committee for its Signature Fundraiser. Darrell continues to be an active member of the YLD’s Litigation and Community Service Projects committees.
     
Outside of work Darrell enjoys spending time with his wife Carrie and their friends and family, golf, soccer and running.
