Emma Burke was born in Dublin, Ireland and raised in Georgia. After graduating from St. Pius X Catholic High School in Atlanta, Emma attended the University of Georgia. There, she received dual degrees in International Affairs and Romance Languages, specializing in both French and Spanish.

Emma graduated from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in May 2010. In addition to her Juris Doctor, Emma received a Certificate in Advanced Legal Writing from Mercer. As a testament to her legal writing skills, Emma earned a CALI Award for the highest grade in her class in Advanced Legal Writing.

While in law school, Emma was a member of Mercer’s Moot Court Team and Mock Trial Team. Her performance at local level competitions secured invitations to represent Mercer in National Competitions for both Moot Court and Mock Trial. In 2010, Emma was honored by being inducted into the Order of the Barristers, an honorary society which recognizes demonstrated outstanding ability in the preparation and presentation of moot appellate argument.

In addition to her involvement in oral advocacy, Emma also served as President of the Federalist Society at Mercer and was an active member of the Second Amendment Society.

Before joining the firm as an attorney, Emma began her days at Bailey Davis as an intern. Emma also gained an introduction into criminal law through her internships at the Bibb County District Attorney’s Office and the Houston County District Attorney’s Office. As a law student and intern, she was sworn-in under the Third Year Practice Act, which authorized her to assist the prosecuting attorneys in various criminal proceedings.

Emma is an associate with Bailey Davis, LLC. She is admitted to practice in all State and Superior Courts of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. Currently, her practice areas primarily include commercial litigation and Workers’ Compensation, representing employees injured in the workplace. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Cobb Bar Association, and the Young Lawyers Division of the Cobb Bar.

Outside of work, Emma teaches Irish dancing and is currently training for her first triathlon. She is an avid traveler, enjoys reading, and is the proud owner of her dog, “Mr. B.”
